AFP, Tuesday 17 Nov 2015

British Prime Minister David Cameron will attend Tuesday's football match between England and France following the attacks in Paris, his spokesman said.

Asked if Cameron would join England fans in singing the French national anthem, the spokesman said: "The prime minister will take part in any tributes".

Speaking to parliament later on Tuesday, Cameron said: "This match is going ahead. Our people stand together... Once again, together we will prevail".

Cameron had not been scheduled to attend the game but a source said that he changed his mind following coordinated attacks in which at least 129 people died.

London's Metropolitan Police Service has announced heightened security measures around the game, including the deployment of armed police.
