Preliminary results reveal a landslide win for the For the Love of Egypt list in all 60 seats of the second stage
Egypt's High Elections Committee (HEC) is to announce the results of the parliamentary elections' first round of the second stage on Wednesday at 7pm local time.
Elections in 13 out of Egypt's 27 governorates took place on Sunday and Monday.
The first stage in the elections was completed in October.
A total of 55,606,578 Egyptians are eligible to vote in the elections. 27,402,353 were eligible to vote during the first stage, while 28,204,225 were eligible in the second.
A total of 282 parliamentary seats were up for competition in the second stage, with 222 seats for independent candidates and 60 seats allocated to party-based lists.
The 222 independents will be elected from 102 constituencies, and the 60 party-based MPs will be elected in two separate constituencies, one which holds 45 seats and the other 15.
Preliminary results have revealed a landslide win for the For the Love of Egypt list in all 60 seats of the second stage. For those running on an individual basis, most constituencies are witnessing run-offs between candidates.
Run-offs are due to take place on December 1 and 2.
