‎678 wins grand prize at African film festival‎

The Egyptian film 678, which revolves around three women battling sexual harassment, ‎has received the grand prize at the Khouribga African Film Festival


The Egyptian film 678, directed by Mohamed Diab and produced by and starring Bushra, has won the grand prize at the 14th edition of the Khouribga African Film Festival FCAK in Morroco.

The festival opened on 16 July and lasted for a week hosting films from Burkina Faso, Mali, Cote d'Ivoire, Mozambique and other African countries.

Nahed El Sebai, also won the prize for best supporting actress for her role in 678. The jury said they chose the film because it discusses a very important issue in the Arab world, sexual harassment.

Marianne Khoury, a jury member, accepted the prize on Mohamed Diab’s behalf, while the actor Khaled Abou El Naga accepted El Sebai’s prize.
