Head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority Ahmed Abdel Aal said on Thursday that temperatures will drop across the country starting Friday, with Saturday witnessing the coldest temperatures, MENA reported.
The cold front will spread from the western cities of Matrouh, Salloum, and Alexandria starting Friday, according to Abdel Aal.
"Low temperatures will also hit other governorates across the country and will last until Monday," says Abdel Aal.
He added that temperatures will rise slightly on Tuesday, but wintry weather will return on Wednesday.
Some rain is likely to hit western and coastal cities of the country and some mild rains are expected in Cairo and Lower Egypt.
Temperatures on the North Coast and North Sinai are expected to be 17-18 degrees Celsius. While in Nile Delta cities and Cairo are expecting to see an average of 18-19 degrees. Northern parts of Upper Egypt will witness a range of 19-20, with 21-22 in the Southern region.
