The 68th Venice Film Festival announced that the Egyptian documentary "Tahrir 2011: The Good, the Bad and the Politician" will be included in their official selection.

The international festival will kick off on 31 August and run through 10 September.

The film revolves around the events that occurred during the Egyptian revolution from three different perspectives portrayed in three different chapters. The first chapter, directed by Tamer Ezzat, titled "The Good", revolves around the revolutionaries. The second part, "The Bad", is directed by Ayten Amin and sheds light on Egypt's police force. The third chapter, directed by Amr Salama, centres on the politicians who were the target of the uprising.

Writer and producer Mohamed Hefzy, who is also founder of the Film Clinic, the film's production company, is supervising the film's production along with WDR and Amana Creative.

"The documentary originated from those directors that participated in the Egyptian revolution and documented all its events, throughout its outburst. Those young directors chose to project their revolution through their camera lens and their passion. It is only natural that all eyes are on Egypt now, post-revolution, one that was admired by all."

The first documentary of Film Clinic was produced for Al-Arabyiah TV channel. What's new about "Tahrir 2011", says Hefzy, is that it expresses the youth's opinion, "by the youth themselves and not through anyone else's perspective".
