Egyptian stock market has closed Tuesday with its EGX30 benchmark down 4.75 per cent at 4,478 points.
The main index fell by 5 per cent within the first 30 minutes of trading, prompting a half-hour freeze of the exchange. The EGX30 lost further ground on reopening before bottoming out down 5.75 per cent and staging a slight recovery.
Total market turnover was LE409.2 million.
