After Zamalek fulfilled its financial obligations, Ahmed Hassan joined Thursday’s training with his new teammates

Former Ahly midfielder Ahmed Hassan seems settled at Zamalek after he received 50 per cent of his move benefits, LE750,000, on Wednesday.

The Egypt skipper started his training in the White Castle Thursday afternoon, under new manager Hassan Shehata.

Thursday training featured 26 players including newly-joined striker Hussien Hamdy, defenders Hani Said and Ghanian Karim El-Hassan and club stars like goalie Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed and striker Amr Zaki.

The 66-year-old Shehata gave the players a 24-hour break; they will be back in training on Saturday.

Zamalek fans appeared in hundreds at the Whites training and they are expected to do much celebratory cheering Saturday for the new squad.

The 36-year-old Hassan, voted best African-based player in 2010, joined the Red Castle in 2008 from Belgian side Anderlecht, inspiring them to win the Egyptian Premier League title in 2009 and 2010, as well as the African Champions League in 2008. On the way, he scored 12 goals in 37 appearances.
