The Egyptian Football Association fined Zamalek's Scottish boss Alex McLeish on Wednesday for missing the post-match press conference following the team's 2-0 Egyptian league victory over Arab Contractors on Sunday.

"McLeish was fined EGP 15,000 for missing the press conference following the Arab Contractors match," the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said in a statement on its official website.

The win over the Contractors was the first for the Whites at the helm of McLeish who recently took the charge of Egyptian league and Cup champions after replacing Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam who was fired.

Zamalek remain in second place in the league with 41 points, six off leaders and arch-rivals Ahly, while the Contractors are 15th on 19 points.

Meanwhile, Zamalek arrived in Cameroon on Wednesday ahead of the anticipated Sunday match against Union Sportive de Douala in the first leg of the African Champions League Round of 32.

Zamalek are representing Egypt in the African Champions League this season alongside runners up Ahly, record holders of the continent's primary club competition with eight titles under their belt.

Ahly will kick-off this season's bid against Recreativo de Libolo of Angola on Saturday.
