The General Egyptian Book Organisationhas recently published new works. The most prominent among them is a book by El-Sayed Yasin, entitled Afaq Al-Maarifa Fi Asr Al-Awlama, Horizons of Knowledge in the Globalisation Age.
The book observes the telecommunication revolution, which the world is currently witnessing, for this revolution is contributing to globalisation. It also observes ways of acquiring and producing knowledge.
The author describes globalisation as the free flow of information, ideas, products, services and resources without restrictions. The book observes the different ideologies in politics, economy, sociology and the culture that has been generated by the developments in the modern theory of knowledge; it then applies these ideologies to modern Arab society.
The book is divided into four parts: Arab Society Facing Globalization, Renewing the Arab Revival Project, The Age of Major Contradictions and The Rebirth of the Arab Revival Idea.
The organisation has also recently published a collection of poems by the poet Helmy Salem entitled Erfaa Raasak Aleatan, Raise Your Head Up High. The collection combines eight poems, among them are: The Song of The Square, The Military, Corruption Anthem, The Arab Spring and Saly Zahran.
