Diplomats return amid speculation Israeli embassy may move to new location

Four Israeli diplomats arrived in Cairo from Tel Aviv on Monday, to resume their work at the Israeli embassy.

The diplomats are the consul, an adviser, the head of security and his deputy.

It remains unknown if they have gone to the Israeli embassy headquarters in Giza or to another location.

Last week it was announced in Egyptian and Israeli media that an Israeli security delegation had visited Cairo and discussed the possibility of relocating the Israeli embassy.

Israeli diplomats and their families departed Cairo on Friday 9 September after the storming of the embassy in Giza by angry protesters, leaving only three diplomats, including the political commissioner, to continue work in the embassy.

The three diplomats later departed by the end of last week.
