Egyptian officials believe the action-packed show will boost tourism in Hurghada and the Red Sea region

American sports entertainment competition American Ninja Warrior will witness an action packed two-day round in Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sahl Hasheesh in Hurghada, Ahram Arabic news website reported.

The world's biggest competitive show is filmed mainly in the US and is an offshoot of a similar show in Japan.

The segment, which takes place on Thursday and Friday, is organised by major tourism companies with an aim ofpromoting touristic operations in Hurghada, a "major destination for international tourists, including celebrities," explained Bashar Abu Taleb, head of the Tourist Guides Union in the Red Sea region.

Taleb also pointed to the presence of 120 local and international media professionals, including television channels, whose coverage he believes will boost tourism in Hurghada and the Red Sea area.

American Ninja Warriors is a televised sports entertainment show where participants are challenged to display strength and fitness by completing a series of obstacles, or "stages," with the final winner awarded $1 million.

The show, currently in its seventh season, was preceded by a similar competition called American Ninja Challenge (2006-2008).
