Mansour El-Eissawy vows to secure polling stations during parliamentary elections

Following a meeting with aides, Mansour El-Eissawy, the minister of interior, has stated that the role of the ministry during elections will be to secure the outside of polling stations.

The minister made it clear that his ministry is at an equal distance from all political powers and parties. In previous elections during the Mubarak era, there were accusations that the ministry of interior used its power to change election results in favour of NDP party candidates.

There have been concerns regardingviolence during upcoming parliamentary elections due to a general lack of security in Egypt and the experience of previous parliamentary elections in 2010.
