Discussions at the GCC already underway for Egypt, Jordan and Morocco to join the regional grouping
The Gulf Cooperation Council is negotiating the possibility of Egypt joining the council as an active member with both Jordon and Morocco, according to sources at Al-Watani magazine in Kuwaiti.
Gulf countries are enthusiastic about the move as they believe Egypt has good potential, strategic relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council, and a historical attachment to security in the region.
The same sources say Egyptian officials have shown initial approval to the idea.
