Iconic Egyptian director Mohamed Khan, one of Egypt’s most prominent directors belonging to a generation of neo­realist filmmakers, died on Tuesday 26 July

The film won Cidalec Golden Award for best film at the Alexandria Film Festival, 1979; Best Film Award at the Egyptian Film Society Festival, 1979 and a Certificate of Merrit for Direction from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture (1981)

The film won the Silver Award at the Carthage Film Festival, 1984.

El­-Harreef (The Street Player, 1984)

Starring Adel Imam, Fardous Abdel Hamid, Nagah El-Mogui.

El­-Harreef is one of three films by Khan – alongside Zawgat Ragol Mohem and Ahlam Hind wa Camilia– which were named among the 100 Greatest Arab Films of All Time by the Dubai International Film Festival.
The film won an award for Best Direction at the Egyptian Film Society Festival, 1985.

The film was nominated for the Golden Prize at Moscow International Film Festival, 1987.

The film won the Silver Award at the Damascus Film Festival, 1987.

Ahlam Hind wa Camilia is one of three films by Khan – alongside Zawgat Ragol Mohem and El­-Harreef – which were named among the 100 Greatest Arab Films of All Time by the Dubai International Film Festival

The film won the Bronze Award at the Valencia Film Fest in 1988, Best Direction from the Egyptian Film Society Festival in 1989, and Best Film from the Catholic Film Centre in Cairo in 1989.

Critics acclaimed Ahmed Zaki in the role of the Egyptian former-president Sadat, saying that the role was one of Zaki's greatest cinematic performances. The film was also second biographical work played by the actor, after he portrayed Gamal Abdel Nasser 1956.

The film was the Egyptian submission for the 80th Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Fataat El-Masnaa (Factory Girl, 2014)

In 2014, the film won Best Production at the Egyptian National Film Festival. It also received numerous awards at the 41st Egyptian Film Association Festival in 2015:the Excellence Award for director Mohamed Khan; a Special Jury Award; Best Actress for Yasmin Raeis; Best Supporting Actress for Salwa Khattab; Best Screenplay award for Wessam Soliman; and Best Film Editing for Dina Farouk.

The film won the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) award for Arab Feature Competition during the Dubai International Film Festival and a Special Jury Prize from MEDFilm Festival in Italy
