Zambia's ZESCO salvage late draw at ASEC in African Champions League
Ahram Online , Wednesday 27 Jul 2016

Zambia's ZESCO United struck with 12 minutes remaining to salvage a 1-1 draw away to ASEC Mimosas on Wednesday and keep their three-point lead over the Ivorian side intact in the African Champions League Group A.

Jackson Mwanza capitalized on a defensive lapse on 28 minutes to slot home and secure a share of spoils after a goal-mouth scramble.

Ibrahim Kone had given ASEC the lead just four minutes earlier when he took advantage of a mis-timed jump by the keeper to head home at the far post after a free kick was floated into the area.

ZESCO remain second in the group with seven points, three ahead of third-placed ASEC and six clear of Egypt's Ahly, who lie at the bottom.

Leaders Wydad Casablanca, who have seven points, host Ahly in the other group match later in the day.
