The new deputies ignored the morning session and preferred to have sandwiches instead

Today’s parliamentary morning session was ignored by many of the new representatives who preferred to have a snack instead.

Other representatives were busy showing their relatives and continuants around the parliament hall.

Women members of parliament, whose numbers rose substantially in the current assembly due to the introduction of a women's quota, were outraged at being almost wholly sidelined as committee chairs, with the single exception of Amal Othman, elected chair of the legislative committee, and Madiha Khatab, Chair of the Health Committee.
