The Cairo Pharmacists Syndicate has announced a three-day mourning period after a young member was killed on Monday inside the pharmacy he owned.
The syndicate offered its condolences to the family and colleagues of 28-year-old Mina Loca Naguib who was found dead inside his pharmacy in Al-Salam in Cairo.
The syndicate said it has charged its legal advisor with following up on the investigations, calling on all involved security authorities to find the culprits.
On Wednesday, a delegation from the Egyptian Pharmacists Syndicate led by its head, Mohie Ebeid, met with the head of investigations in the interior ministry to discuss the investigation.
Al-Ahram Arabic has said the killers were motivated by robbery.
Other media outlets reported that the pharmacist was killed after he refused to sell narcotic drugs to a drug addict, leading to his death in defence of his "professional duty.".
