A military court has given 73 defendants suspended sentences following September's clashes around the Israeli embassy
A military court has sentenced 73 defendants to serve suspended sentences of six months, for involvement in the clashes that took place at the Israeli embassy last September. At the ruling on Monday, the court also acquitted two defendants.
The defendants were accused of attacking military police during the clashes which occurred outside the Israeli embassy on 30 September.
According to a source, the military court suspended its rulings because of the young age of the defendants.
However, prosecutors have recently referred a number of defendants accused of involvement in clashes at the Saudi embassy and Giza directorate which occurred on the same night as the events at the Israeli embassy to the State Emergency Security Supreme court.
