PROGRAMME: A week of digital art with Di-Egy Fest 0.2

The festival has grown from it's first edition that was held in 2013 to include new venues


The second edition of the festival dedicated to digital arts, Di-Egy Fest 0.2, opens today and will run till 14 March at Darb 1718 and other venues.

This edition is directed by artist Weaam El-Masry. Under the theme of ‘Coding and Identity,’ the festival presents a programme of exhibitions by Egyptian and international artists, workshops, art talks and panel discussions, as well as live performances and digital art activities for children.

The exhibition will be held at Darb 1718, the main premises for the festival, while workshops will also be held in other venues across Cairo, including the Khalifa Community Centre and The Faculty of Art and Design at MSA University.

Di-Egy Fest is the first festival in Egypt dedicated to the digital arts. The Festival is founded by Elham Khattab from Out Of The Circle Initiative in 2013 to shed light on the ways in which electronics have altered the art world. The first edition was held at The Gezira Art Centre in 2013, directed artist Haytham Nawar.
