Zamalek's Portuguese coach Augusto Inacio said on Monday that he has refused three job offers from European and Arabian teams, confirming that he wants to see out his contract with the Cairo club until the end of the 2018 season.

"I received three offers from European and Arabian clubs to coach one of them since joining Zamalek last month, but I refused all those offers because I am happy to stay with Zamalek," Inacio was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"Some teams chased me with big money offers, but I respect my deal with Zamalek," he said.

Inacio has coached various clubs in Portugal, including Rio Ave, Marítimo, Sporting CP and Moreirense. In April, he signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with Zamalek at the club's headquarters.

The 62-year-old took charge of Zamalek in the League, Egypt Cup and CAF Champions League tournaments following the resignation of Mohamed Helmi, under whom the club delivered a series of unconvincing performances.

"I took charge of the team at a difficult time as the players were suffering from fatigue. So I decided to rest some players during the ongoing competitions and then the remaining ones will be rested later," he said.

"Zamalek now are on the right track to achieve the objective that I am working towards."

Zamalek are third in the Egyptian Premier League table, with 54 points, 21 points behind leaders and rivals Ahly, while Maqassa are second with 63 points.
