An exhibition of stills and costumes from the visually striking music video El-Ghajareya (The Gypsy) by Menna Hussein will be on display at Beit El-Sura on 5-7 July.

The exhibition displays photos by Ahmed Hayman, the video's director of photography, cinematographer Reem Ossama, and photographer Khaled Marzouk, who will all be present at the opening to speak with the audience and sign prints.

The video garnered over a million views on YouTube in its first two weeks.

The term Ghajareya refers to a gypsy woman, and the music video depicts a woman in gypsy attire, singing in Arabic in a tent in the desert.

The costumes and jewelry used in the video will also be on display.

“Attending the exhibition will help the audience indulge in the mood, surrounded by the crew, listening to the song, viewing the photographs, accessories, makeup, clothes, everything used in the video, will make the audience feel as if they were part of the experience,” the exhibition description reads.

Additionally at the opening there will be an exclusive screening of "The Making of El=Ghajareya," a behind-the scenes film by Ossama.

Hayman is an award-winning photographer and photojournalist who, after a career in photojournalism between 2005 and 2008, obtained a diploma in visual storytelling from the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Aarhus, Denmark in 2011.

Among his awards are first prize for a photo story from the Egypt Press Photo Awards in 2011, and an award from Jordan's Ninth International Photography Festival in the same year, among others.

Menna Hussein is an Egyptian singer who was part of the band Uss We Lazq. El-Ghajareya is her latest single and was in released in April.
