Africain, FUS Rabat reach CAF Confed Cup last-eight following final round wins

Tunisia’s Club Africain and Moroccan side FUS Rabat have made it to the CAF Confederation Cup last-eight after finishing top of Group A following respective 2-1 and 4-0 victories over Rivers United and Kampala City on Friday.

Playing in Rabat, the hosts went behind to a Bolaji Sakin goal in the 44th minute before Youssef El-Gnaoui equalized seven minutes after the break.

Mohamed Fouzair scored the winner two minutes from the end of regular time as the Moroccans finished runners-up.

Elsewhere in Rades, Club Africain’s Saber Khalifa paved the way for a 4-0 thrashing of Uganda’s Kampala City, opening the scoring in the 11th minute.

Manoubi Haddad made it two in the 25th minute before Moataz Zemzemi notched the third just one minute from half-time.

Haddad then completed the rout in the 90th minute, as the Tunisians finished top of their group with nine points, three ahead of their North African counterparts.
