Egypt’s foreign minister Sameh Shoukry is set to meet with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in Cairo on Monday to discuss Kuwait's most recent efforts to mediate the Qatar crisis, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.

Sheikh Al-Sabah is in Cairo to discuss solutions to the crisis between Qatar and the four Arab nations that have impossed a boycott: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain.

According to an informed source in the Egyptian foreign ministry, Al-Sabah will inform Shoukry of the outcomes of Kuwaiti efforts on the issue, as well as Qatar’s response and its readiness to alter its policies in response to pressure from the four boycotting nations.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister will also be presented with the stances of those four nations.

Last month, the four Arab states severed diplomatic ties and transport links with Qatar, accusing the oil-rich Gulf state of supporting terrorism and meddling in their internal affairs. Doha has denied the accusations.

Kuwait has acted as a mediator to try to resolve the ongoing crisis.
