Tunisair has temporarily halted flights to Tripoli following Saturday's incident in which protesters blocked a plane from taking off

Tunisair spokeswoman Soulafa Mokadde said Tripoli flights would be blocked until security conditions improve at the capital's airport, though flights would be continued to Benghazi, Libya's second-largest city.

On Saturday, dozens of protesters blocked an Airbus A320 from taking off for several hours as they protested violence in the Bani Walid area, a former stronghold of former leader Moamar Gaddafi.

The plane was ultimately allowed to take off after negotiations with Libyan authorities. Tunisair said the plane was carrying 43 wounded Libyans for treatment in Tunisia, and seven Tunisians.
