Highs of 35 degrees expected in Cairo on Saturday

Saturday is expected to see increased temperatures in much of Egypt, with a six-degree increase in Cairo to reach a high of 35 degrees Celsius and a low of 21 degrees, state news agency MENA reported on Friday.

The coastal cities of Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh will also see hotter weather, with highs of 34 and 30 degrees respectively, and lows of 22 degrees for both.

The Red Sea resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada will see slightly higher temperatures also, with 33-degree highs in both cities, and lows at 25 and 22 degrees respectively.

The Sinai town of Saint Catherine will see cool weather with highs of 28 degrees and lows of 13.

Temperatures in Upper Egypt will not be affected, with Luxor and Aswan both witnessing highs of 36 degrees and lows of 19 and 20 degrees respectively.

The Mediterranean coasts will experience waves 2 to 2.5 metres in height, while waves on the Red Sea will be 1.5 to 2 metres high.
