Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry says the presence of the home fans in the stands would be a source of pressure against Wydad and not his side ahead of the of both teams’ CAF Champions League final return-leg at Casablanca's Mohamed V Stadium on Saturday.
Following a 1-1 first-leg draw in Alexandria last week, Ahly will be looking for a win against the Moroccans away from home in search for their ninth Champions League trophy.
“Wydad have a huge fan base, but the biggest fan base in Africa and the Arab World belongs to Ahly,” El-Badry said in the pre-match press conference.
“They will be a source of pressure against Wydad and not Ahly.
“As to the absence of their star Mohammed Ounajem, I don’t really think that his absence would make a big difference.”
Wydad star Ounajem will miss the match due to injury sustained during his side’s 1-1 draw with Ahly last week.
The Champions League winner qualifies for next month Club World Cup in the UAE.
