Morocco manager Herve Renard said on Sunday he hopes his side would be paired with France at next year's World Cup, saying he does not fear any opponents.

The Frenchman led Morocco to a World Cup place for the first time since 1998 after they secured an impressive 2-0 victory over Ivory Coast in Abidjan on Saturday.

"We don't fear any opponent," Renard was quoted as saying by French magazine France Football on Sunday.

"I want my side to be drawn in the same group as France. It will be a great honor for me to face France in the World Cup."

Morocco made four appearances in the World Cup, having reached the round of last 16 in 1986 when they lost 1-0 to Germany.

The draw for the group stage of the 2018 World Cup will take place on 1 December in Moscow.
