Ahly defeated Dakhleya 2-0 in their last Egyptian League match on Friday

Holders Ahly will be waiting a tough test to extend their winning streak when they visit stiff rivals Masry at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab stadium in the Egyptian Premiere League Tuesday.

In a good start for the season, Ahly were held to a draw once before winning in five successive matches. Their last victory came Friday with a 2-0 win over Dakhleya.

After six matches, the Reds currently lie fourth in the Egyptian League table with 16 points, seven behind leaders Ismaily who played four matches more.

Masry occupy second place in the league with 22 points from 10 matches.

Ahly-Masry clash has become one of the strongest confrontations in the Egyptian League in recent years especially as the Port Said-based club joined the league's heavyweights under the guidance of former Egypt International star Hossam Hassan.

Last August, Ahly barely clinched Egypt Cup title after beating Masry 2-1 in extra time.

In Tuesday's match, Ahly will be missing injured defence duo Rami Rabiaa and Ali Maaloul, while keeper Sherif Ekramy and midfielder Saleh Gomaa will not be available for technical reasons.

Masry, who won seven out of ten matches, will be eager to stop the reigning champions and continue their fine run. Beating Ahly would be Masry's fourth successive win after three successive wins over Asyouti Sport, Arab Contractors and Ittiahad of Alexandria.
