Egypt's aviation ministry said on Sunday that the pre-take off technical report on a training aircraft that crashed in Fayoum on Friday showed no technical problem with the aircraft.

Two aviation students and a flight coach from the state-owned Egyptian Aviation Academy (EAA) died when their Beachcraft Baron 58 crashed while on a training flight due to a sudden technical malfunction, according to the ministry.

Aviation minister Sherif Fathy met on Sunday with ministry officials as well as the head of the EAA Elias Sadek to identify the cause of the crash and follow up on the ongoing investigation into the crash, according to the ministry’s statement.

All documents and other technical and maintenance reports about the plane's condition produced by the academy and the country's Civil Aviation Authority are being reviewed.

The plane crashed in the desert near Fayoum's Youssef El-Seddiq Village, south of Cairo.
