Egypt's National Elections Authority (NEA) announced on Monday that pencils will not be allowed in polling booths in the presidential elections in March, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported.
In statements to the newspaper on Monday, NEA spokesperson Mahmoud El-Sherif said that pencils would not be permitted in the voting process, and that pens would be made available at polling stations.
He added that the authority has finished inspecting most of the polling stations as part of the process of preparing regulations.
The NEA is busy in preparing the logistics of the elections process, said El-Sherif, including the distribution of the judges supervising the elections at constituency headquarters and polling stations.
Egypt's 2018 presidential elections are set to be held 26-28 March.
