Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp said he is not sure whether Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah will have recovered from his recent injury in time for Tuesday's Champions League clash against Manchester City.

The 25-year old winger – who has won the PFA Player of the Month for the fourth time this season – sustained an injury on Wednesday during the first leg of the quarter finals and has missed training since then.

Klopp is also hoping that Alberto Moreno and Andy Robertson will be fit for the game after missing last Saturday's match against Everton in the Premier League.

“No real clue in the moment because we have to wait a little bit. You can imagine, in this short period between games, it is quite difficult, so I have to wait each minute I can, and that’s what I’ll do. There’s nothing new in the moment, we will see," the German tactician said during a presser on Monday.

“We will see in five hours until we train and we’ll know who is involved in that. I don’t know in the moment 100 per cent, but I am quite hopeful we will have a bigger squad than we had at Everton.

“With Mo, Robbo and Alberto, we have to wait a little bit, but of course [we have] big hope they will be back," he added.

Salah has been on stunning form this season after scoring 38 goals in all competitions, including 29 in the Premier League that put him top of the competition's goal scorers.

Liverpool will be hoping to protect their 3-0 home lead when they travel to Manchester, reaching the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2017/2018.
