Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry commented on Wednesday about the importance of Friday's game against Dakhleya in Egypt Cup round of 16.
"Ahly will be competing against a tough and respectful opponent. I talked with the players about the importance and toughness of the game. We turned the page of Smouha game already and we are focusing on the upcoming match," the 56-year-old tactician stated via the club's official website on Wednesday.
Ahly, who are already guaranteed to win their third successive title, were held in a goalless draw against Smouha on Sunday on the 31st match day of the Egyptian Premier League.
"Cup games are only decided by effort. They are always have surprises and we are willing to prevent any by focusing and concentration," El-Badry added.
"We will be doing our best to defend the Egypt Cup title," he concluded.
Ahly will continue their African Champions League bid against Esperance on 4 May after an easy win against Gabon's CF Mounana.
