Egyptian FM discusses Iranian intervention with Arab ministers ahead of Riyadh summit

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed the latest regional developments concerning Iran and its intervention in Arab countries' affairs withhisArab counterparts in Riyadhon Thursday, the Egyptian foreign ministry said.

The meetingof the Arab ministerial committeeassigned to follow Iranian intervention was held before the general session of Arab foreign ministers discussed the latest interventions in Syria and Yemen.

On Wednesday the Saudi military shot down a missileover Riyadh that had beenfired by Houthi fightersin Yemen.

The committee is made up of the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, the UAE,and the secretary-general of the Arab League.

Currently, Shoukry is participating in the preparatory meetings for the 29thArab summit in Riyadh, where he arrived on Wednesday.

The Arab League has also sent a delegation to Saudi Arabia for the preparatory meetings.

The upcoming summit will be held on Sunday in Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
