The 2017-18 Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Player of the Year Awards ceremony will be held Sunday, with Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah named in the shortlist.

The 25-year-old winger was shortlisted against Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne, Leroy Sane and David Silva, Manchester United's David de Gea, and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.

"In my opinion, I deserve it," Salah was quoted as saying on ESPN on Friday, adding: "De Bruyne deserves it. Silva also had a great season and he deserves it. De Gea deserves it. And Harry Kane had a great season. He deserves it."

"All of us try to help our team to get the points and be in a better position. Everyone deserves it," the Egyptian record-breaking winger said.

The young Pharaoh is rejoicing in the best season ever played by an Egyptian abroad, having scored 41 goals, with 31 in the Premier League.
