Flamenco dancer Alba Heredia performs at the residence of the Spanish Ambassador in Egypt

Heredia's performance was attended by a number of diplomats, journalists and academics


The Spanish Ambassador to Cairo Arturo Avello hosted a concert at his residence in Zamalek on Monday for the Spanish flamenco dancer Alba Heredia.

Heredia and her band gave a flamenco performance entitled the Pure Sacred Mountain (Puro Sacro Monte).

The event followed the dancer's earlier performance at the Cairo Opera House on 21 April.

The concert at the ambassador's residence gathered a number of officials, including the Russian, Singaporean, Chilean, Japanese, Belgian and Dominican ambassadors to Egypt, as well as Egyptian Minister of Antiquities Khaled El-Enani and Petroleum Minister Tarek El-Molla, the Spanish Embassy's counsellor Montserrat Moman and the media coordinator Taha Ziyad.

A number of journalists and the editor-in-chief of Al-Youm Al-Sabaa newspaper, Khaled Salah, also attended, as did political expert Hala Mustafa and various other prominent academic and cultural representatives.

Alba Heredia is internationally renowned and has perforemd in the United States, Japan and the Czech Republic.

She has won many awards at a number of international festivals.
