The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) competition committee announced early on Sunday that it has assigned an Egyptian referee for the anticipated Egypt Cup final between Zamalek and Smouha, scheduled for Tuesday.

"Mohamed Farouk will referee Egypt Cup, assisted by Ayman Degeish and Mahmoud Abou El-Regal while the fourth referee will be Mohamed Marouf," the committee announced via the association's official social media profiles.

The two clubs' chairmen had been in dispute after the association ignored Smouha's demand for a foreign referee.

The Alexandrian side initiallythreatenedto withdraw from the game, but following yesterday's announcement, agreed to participate.

The two teams are currently wrapping up their training before the game.

Both coaches expressed their readiness and determination to clinch the precious tournament.

"I trust the team's abilities and I demand all players do their best in order to win the game and lift the Egypt Cup trophy," Zamalek newly-appointed coach Khaled Galal told the club's website.

Smouha coach Mimi Abdel-Razik has praised the "fighting spirit" of his players, and demanded that they win the game.

"We have a powerful squad that is technically capable of clinching the tournament from any opponent," he said to Smouha's website.

Smouha are eyeing their first-ever trophy while Zamalek are seeking to win the secondary domestic competition for the fifth time in the last six editions.

Zamalek are desperate not to end the season empty-handed after a disappointing campaign saw them finish fourth in the Egyptian league and exit the African Confederation Cup at the first hurdle.
