Ahram online, Sunday 27 May 2018

Montpellier forward Mohamed Mamdouh Hashem has become the second Egyptian player to win the European Champions League after helping his side defeat Nantes 32-26 in the final in Cologne on Sunday.

Hashem produced a fine display, scoring six goals to lead Montpellier to the title.

The former Zamalek player was loaned from French side AIX to Montpellier last summer.

Iconic player Hussein Zaki was the first Egyptian to win the Champions League, having won the trophy with Spanish giants Ciudad Real in 2005.
