Harb Qarmouz (Karmouz War)

Director:Peter Mimi
Starring:Amir Karara, Ghada Abdelrazek, Mostafa Khater, Mahmoud Hemida

Thisaction-packed film focuses on an Egyptian police officer named Youssef El-Masry. In Alexandria’s Karmouz neighborhood during thedays of themonarchy, El-Masry tries to save a woman frombeingraped.

A social drama about relationships between people of different religions, with stories parallel and intertwining with each other. A young Muslimmanfalls in love with a Christian girl and they wed in spite of everyone’s disapproval. Meanwhile, a businessman becomes tangled in a massive corruption scandal.

Egypt’s censorship authority has withdrawn the screening permit of the film, a day before its preview screening.

Alb Ommo (Mama’s Boy)

A comedy centring on a crime gang boss named Magdy Takhtoukh, whoisbadly injured during a fight and needsa heart transplant. Meanwhile the mother of a young man named Younis dies. Her heart is given to Takhtoukh, and hence he starts dealing with Younis in a very “motherly”way.


El-Abla TamTam

Director:Ali Idris
Starring:Yasmine Abdel Aziz, Hamdy El-Merghany, Bayoumi Fouad, Mostafa Abo Sareea

A comedy in which a group of prisoners escape jail through a secret tunnel, only to find themselves in an experimental school. They decide to stay there until they figure out what to do, but Abla Tamtam will make their life harder.
