Under protection of occupation soldiers, extremist Jews in Jerusalem call for expulsion of city’s Palestinian residents

Jewish extremists in Jerusalem on Monday broke through Al-Aqsa Mosque’s Magharba Gate in small groups, encircling the mosque under the protection of occupation soldiers and police.

Senior rabbis reportedly urged their supporters last week to break into the mosque compound on the occasion of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah in order to perform Jewish rituals inside the precincts of the mosque.

In a provocative move, hundreds of extremist Jewish settlers marched around the mosque in Jerusalem’s old city chanting racist slogans against the city’s Arab residents. The settlers were accompanied by armed occupation soldiers and police.

Large groups of Jewish settlers congregated on Jerusalem’s Al-Wad Street waving Israeli flags and demanding the expulsion of the city’s Palestinian inhabitants.
