Egypt's Sisi arrives in Assiut to inaugurate major development projects

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has arrived in Upper Egypt's Assiut to inaguraute the governorate's new barrage and hydroelectric plant, as part of a number of mega development projects he is set to open during the upcoming days.



The new hydroelectric plant includes 4 turbines to generate electricity and is the largest water project conducted on Nile River after the High Dam.



Spokesman for the presidency Bassam Rady said Saturday in statements to MENA that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is to inaugurate a number of major projects in Upper Egypt during the upcoming days including a number of projects in Sohag and Beni Suweif governorates.



Rady affirmed in a statement that the state puts the development of cities of Upper Egypt at top of its priorities.



The Spokesman noted that the government plans to carry out major development and infrastructure projects in Upper Egypt, which was embodied in the establishment of the higher authority for Upper Egypt development.
