Renowned Syrian novelist Hannah Mina dies at 94

Syrian writer and novelist Hanna Mina died on Tuesday in the Syrian capital of Damascus at the age of 94.

Mina, who is best known for his book Al-Shira Wal Asifa (The Sail and the Storm) and Athalg Ya’ti min Al-Nafiza (The Ice comes from the Window), was deemed one of the most renowned Syrian and Arab novelists in the 20th century.

Mina was born in Latakia governorate in 1924.

Syrian state news agency SANA said that he died after a long struggle with illness.

Mina leaves behind more than 40 books.
