The three activists were arrested for agitating against the ruling military council in Cairo neighbourhoods
Three of the four April 6 Movement members under investigation for distributing anti-SCAF flyers have been released on bail of LE300 (around $50).
The four have reportedly been accused of attempting to overthrow the ruling military regime and destabilise the country. They were arrested on Monday while distributing anti-SCAF flyers as part on an ongoing Kazeboon (“Liars”) campaign after being reported to the police by local residents.
The released activists are Mohamed Abdel Motelb, Mahmoud Zakaria and Mahmoud Hossam. The three were questioned by the prosecution on Wednesday evening and reportedly confessed to participating in all events that rocked the nation since the January 25 Revolution began, including November and December’s clashes in Mohamed Mahmoud Street and Qasr El-Aini Street, and the torching of Egypt’s Scientific Institute.
The activists also reportedly confessed to distributing anti-SCAF flyers in Old Cairo and Dar El-Salam districts and to being incited by the April 6 Movement’s media consultant, Tarek El-Kholy, to launch a revolution against the military council.
