Sisi appoints former head of ACA as adviser for governance and information infrastructure
Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has appointed the head of the country’s anti-corruption body as his adviser for governance and information infrastructure, official news agency MENA reported on Saturday.
According to statements by Egyptian presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady, El-Sisi appointed Mohamed Erfan, former chief of Administrative Control Authority (ACA), as his new adviser.
In recent months, Egypt’s Administrative Control Authority has uncovered several cases involving bribery and senior state officials.
Erfan’s appointment comes two days after the Egyptian president swore in on Thursday Major General Sherif Seif El-Din Hussein as new head of the ACA, succeeding Erfan, who had held the post since April 2015.
