Retro band was founded by renowned vernacular poet Ahmed Haddad

Mazag Seyadti, a performance by Retro band celebrating the latest book of poetry by renowned vernacular poet, will take place on Sunday 30 September at El Sawy Culturewheel.

The evening includes a celebration of Haddad's seventh book of poetry titled: Mazag Seyadti, (Dar el- Shorouk Publishing House)

Accompanying Haddad on stage will be singers Dalia El-Guindy and Fatma Adel.

Haddad, the founder of the band, graduated from the High Cinema Institute, script writing department in 2006.

His academic training in the cinema institute infused his poetry performances with a highly dramatic sense, where poetry is recited in a modern way and interwoven with songs that he wrote, creating a 'musical script' that leans very much towards the operetta form.

Since 2004, Haddad's name has been affiliated with popular independent Egyptian music troupes such as Fayrouz Karawya's band, Eskenderella band, Wust El-Balad Band as well as main stream artists such as Yehia Ghanam, Ali El-Haggar, Ahmed El-Haggar and many more.

Programme:
Sunday 30 September, 8pm
