Preview: Zamalek eye league summit in Arab Contractors game
Ahram Online, , Saturday 22 Sep 2018

Zamalek will be looking to overtake Pyramids FC on top of the Egyptian Premier League table when they face Arab Contractors on Sunday.

The White Knights failed to build on their recent string of fine results, which saw them defeat Talae El-Geish 3-0 after crushing Enppi 4-1, as they were held to 1-1 draw with Smouha last week.

Zamalek are second in the league table with 14 points, one point behind leaders Pyramids, while arch-rivals and current title holders Ahly are fourth with 11 points, with two games in hand due to their participation in the CAF Champions League.

Zamalek coach Christian Gross said he was satisfied with the team's current form despite the draw with Smouha.

"This Zamalek squad is full of talented players, especially indefence," Gross was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

Arab Contractors are 13th in the league table with 7 points from as many games.
