Egyptian side Ittihad appointed Helmi Toulan as the team's new coach, the Alexandria-based club announced on Monday.
Toulan is one of the experienced coaches in the Egyptian League, with multiple stints managing Cairo giants Zamalek in the past.
The 68-year-old took charge of the Talae El-Geish club last season before losing his post last March.
Toulan will replace Mohamed Omar, who was fired on Friday after Ittihad's 3-0 loss to Dakhleya in a league game.
"I am very happy to work for great club like Ittihad of Alexandria," Toulan told the club's official website on Monday.
"We are capable of overcoming our critical situation in the league table," he added.
Ittihad currently lie 15th in the league table with seven points from seven games, ten points behind leaders Zamalek.
