Ministers, ambassadors and artists were attending the launching ceremony


Several ministers, ambassadors and artists were present at the launching ceremony of the Boutros Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge (KEMT).

At one of the five-star hotels with the Nile in the background, the opening ceremony of the KEMT - meaning the fertile land of Egypt in the ancienct Egyptian language - took place.

Leah Boutros-Ghali, widow of the late former Secretary-General of the United Nations, is the honorary president of the foundation.

At the celebration, Leah welcomed a number of ministers, ambassadors, public figures and artists among many others were Nabil Al-Arabi, former Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, President of the National Council for Human Rights Mohamed Fayeq, Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina Mustafa El-Fiki, Minister of Planning Hala El-Saeed.

Present also were Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Waly, Alieddin Hilal, former Minister of Youth, together with former Minister of Health and Population Moushira Khattab, President of Shomoaa Cultural Foundation Lotus Abdel-Karim, Ambassador of Franceto Egypt Stephane Romatet, writer and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram newspaper Aisha Abdel-Ghaffar, Economist Mounir Neaamatallah and actress Yossra.
