Egypt's ministry of military production signs MoU with Slovenia's Iskra on energy infrastructure

Ambassador of Slovenia Prevolsek stressed that Iskra looks forward to cooperation with Egyptian military production companies in light of high quality of their products and technological and industrial capabilities


Egypt's Minister of Military Production Mohamed El-Assar attended on Tuesday in Cairo the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Egypt’s National Organisation for Military Production and the Slovenian company Iskra to cooperate in the field of developing infrastructure to distribute energy.

The ambassador of Slovenia Mateja Prevolsek also attended the event.

El-Assar expressed his ministry's desire to cooperate with Slovenia in a way that serves the common interests of both countries, stressing the importance of benefiting from Slovenian expertise in many modern industrial fields.

The minister explained that the MoU will allow Egypt to benefit from Iskra’s expertise in the fields of energy and logistics services as well as the field of manufacturing equipment used in the provision of electricity to military production companies.

Ambassador Prevolsek explained that Iskra is the largest national company in Slovenia in the areas of information and communications systems; logistics' services; securities' systems; energy distribution systems, means of transportation, railroads, road traffic systems, as well as programming solutions.

The ambassador of Slovenia stressed that Iskra looks forward to cooperation with the Egyptian military production companies in light of both the high quality of its products and the fact that its technological and industrial capabilities meet international standards, as well as its participation in executing national and developmental projects.

The ambassador also affirmed her confidence in the success of the cooperation between the two parties to implement national and development projects that serve both sides in the field of energy and other fields, especially since Iskra works in many areas that can benefit Egypt.

El-Assar invited Slovenian defence companies to participate in EDEX 2018, the first international exhibition of defence and military industries organised by the Egyptian Ministry of Defence under the auspices of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.

The event will be held at the Egyptian International Exhibition Centre from 3 to 5 December 2018.

The minister said that this exhibition is an important opportunity to learn about the potential of Egyptian defence industries and to establish new partnerships with paticipant countries.
