The US military said on Tuesday that it had carried out two airstrikes in Somalia that killed 37 suspected militants.

In a statement, the US military said the strikes took place on Monday near Debatscile, Somalia and were targeting al Shabaab militants.

The military said it did not assess that the strikes had killed or injured any civilians.
