Zamalek pay dues of Cameroonian Mendomo to avert points' deduction
Ahram Online, , Saturday 26 Jan 2019

Zamalek said on Saturday they had paid the dues of their former Cameroonian midfielder Alexis Mendomo to avert a looming six-point deduction from world governing body FIFA.

Last November, FIFA gave Zamalek a final 90-day deadline to settle an overdue payment of EGP 15 million or risk losing six points.

"The club's president ordered the transfer of EGP 15 million to Mendomo's bank account to avoid the points' deduction," read a statement by Zamalek.

Mendomo, 32, joined Zamalek in January 2012 and left the team in July 2013.

Zamalek are leading the Egyptian Premier League table with 42 points, three ahead of second-placed Pyramids who played three matches more.
